The Bizarre Bazaar Under New Ownership, But Remaining in the Family
After 49 years in the gift show business, The Bizarre Bazaar’s fearless leader, Alice Siegel, is passing the torch to her daughter, Eliza Siegel Branch.
A women-owned and operated business, The Bizarre Bazaar was established in 1975 by Alice as a means for she and her friends to sell their home-made crafts, jewelry, clothing and gourmet foods. The show has grown and expanded over the years and is now held at The Richmond Raceway Complex, drawing close to 30,000 shoppers between The Christmas Collection and The Spring Market.
Eliza Branch will take the helm this fall in advance of the 49th Christmas Collection show. The Bizarre Bazaar is one of the region’s most cherished Christmas traditions and will be held Dec. 4th-8th, 2024. Eliza will continue with her work as a realtor for Long & Foster in their Grove office, where she has been selling homes for over 24 years.
Eliza brings with her a lifetime of knowledge and experience, having grown up working at the show, as well as having been a vendor there selling specialty foods. Eliza witnessed her mother Alice’s dedication and hard work in bringing The Bizarre Bazaar’s Christmas Collection and Spring Market to fruition each year. Alice looks forward to travel and spending time with family, but don’t be surprised to find her at the show busying herself with floral arrangements and decorations. She always makes sure the show is festive and fun!

CHRISTMAS COLLECTION STILL GOING STRONG!
We are more than just a place to buy a gift. People travel from the tri-state area and beyond to spend the day at our event. They coordinate their outfits, come dressed in elaborate costumes, tailgate in the parking lot, all to celebrate the season and enjoy a day with friends.
In recent years we have been voted the BEST CRAFT FAIR OR EVENT by the readers of Richmond Magazine. This is a very proud distinction for an event that began over 40 years ago in local owner Alice Siegel’s living room. Since then we have grown to over 500 exhibitors with an attendance of 30,000.
Additionally, we are able to help raise money for causes near and dear to us. This year we will sponsor a Preview Shopping Night to benefit Operation Healing Forces, an organization founded by Gary Markel to assist active duty and recent-veteran wounded service members and their spouses in the physical, emotional and mental healing needed in order to return to civilian life.
